“Study Strong” Package

This is a flexible 5-sessions package to help students in high school, college and grad school build a solid foundation of strategies and skills in note-taking, study strategies, time management and organization in order to experience greater academic success!

Students will work through the Anti-Boring Approach to Powerful Studying™ course independently in 5 increments (~20-minutes—1.5 hours of coursework prior to each coaching session).

“Designing College Success” Package

This 5-session package will help incoming freshman & college students face specific challenges as they adapt to college life with a decrease in structured time, increased independence & new living situation. This package shows students how to implement practices to manage schedule organization and optimize focus for success. Analog & digital tools and strategies will be demonstrated and discussed, so students can choose a system that works best for them.

√ 5 one-hour 1:1 sessions

Session 1: Make Time Visible

  • Choose a calendaring & planning system for your visual time management.
  • Track recurring events & lean how to calculate the study time you will need each week.
  • Make wise decisions about time allocation to allow for non-repeating academic & personal commitments.

Session 2: Planning Your Weekly Priorities

  • Learn to break down long-term assignments into manageable chunks.
  • Review the status of what needs to be done for each class in the week ahead. 
  • Assign each task a time to be accomplished on the weekly to-do list.

Session 3: Managing Distractions

  • Discuss the science behind productivity & optimal cognitive function.
  • Apply best practices for managing phone, computer & social distractions.  
  • Myth of Multi-tasking and the switch cost benefit

Session 4: Finding Your Perfect “Study Zone”

  • Identifying when & where you do your best work. 
  • Design habits & routines to maximize the work day. 

√ Session 5: Studying Powerfully

  • Use brain science to ramp up results.
  • Learn about research-based practices that ensure effective learning, including the Study Cycle, spaced sessions, and retrieval practice. 
  • Learn how to optimize AI tools for learning.
